At approximately 11:00 Wednesday night, 911 received multiple calls for a house fire on Erin Meadows Way SE. First arriving fire crews saw a fully involved home with flames that had already spread to the roof of a neighbouring home. Five residents in total self evacuated the two homes without injury. Firefighters quickly got the fire under control however damage to both homes is extensive. Two other homes sustained minor exterior damage. Calgary Police Service officers, AHS, ATCO Gas and Enmax are also on scene to assist. A Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator is attending the scene to determine origin and cause. Calgary fire crews will remain on scene throughout the night to monitor for hot spots. Preliminary reports indicate that the homes did have working smoke alarms.
