Three Homes in Cougar Ridge Destroyed by Fire

Shortly after 2:00 on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 3, 2023,  multiple calls started coming into 9-1-1 reporting a house on fire on Cougartown Close S.W.  When fire crews arrived on scene, one house was fully involved with flames spreading to the neighbouring house prompting a second alarm for additional resources.  Four residents escaped without injuries, sadly however, two dogs are unaccounted for.  

Three homes were completely destroyed and a  fourth home had minor heat damage to the siding.  In total, six people are displaced from three homes. Other residents who were evacuated as a precaution have been allowed back in. Traffic in the area was disrupted due to  all of the emergency vehicles. CPS officers assisted with traffic management.

Fire investigators are on scene and have started the investigation into the origin and cause of this fire.  Anybody who has video, photos or information about this fire, especially before fire crews arrived on scene,  please email piofire@calgary.ca
