Calgary Fire Department fight 2 alarm warehouse fire.

At approximately 10:00 PM  Calgary 911 received a call with reports of a structure fire in a warehouse in the 3900 block of 54 Avenue SE.

The Calgary Fire Department(CFD) was dispatched to the address, on arrival they were met with a large warehouse with smoke and fire visible coming from the roof of the building. Due to the conditions and the size of the building a 2nd alarm was called to ensure sufficient resources were on scene. A defensive fire attack was set up with aerial masters streams on 3 sides of the structure to bring it under control. At the time of this report, fire crews were entering the warehouse to attempt to reach the seat of the fire. A single employee and the caller to 911 safely self evacuated the building and was able to provide information which assisted the interior attack of the fire.

Due to the location of the warehouse exposure to other buildings or residential areas is not a concern.

ATCO and Enmax are on scene to assist with the control and flow of utilities. the Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator is also on scene to find out the cause and origin of the fire.

Alberta Health Service(AHS) and Calgary Police Services are assisting with scene safety and to respond to any injured responders.

The Calgary Fire Department would like to ask if residents have photos, video or information regarding the fire, especially prior to CFD arrival, please email piofire@calgary.ca
