Calgary Fire Department extricates driver after collision through a garage in the SE

At approximately 8:40 this morning, Calgary fire crews responded to a collision in which a driver lost control of his vehicle and drove through a garage on Lake Lucerne Drive S.E. On arrival, fire crews found a vehicle which had driven through a garage and into a tree in the backyard of the residence. Firefighters extricated the driver and transferred care to waiting AHS crews for transport to an area hospital. Firefighters from the Heavy Rescue crew have shored up the garage to ensure stability until permanent repairs can be made. Calgary Police Service Officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
