Calgary Fire Department fights two alarm fire in Sundance

At approximately 2:30 this afternoon, 911 received calls for a house fire on Sunvale Crescent S.E. When fire crews arrived, the amount of fire visible prompted the fire captain to call for a second alarm. Six teenagers were home at the time and safely evacuated. They were assessed by on scene AHS. The occupants were alerted to the fire by a neighbour who also called 911. The fire appears to have started on the outside of the home. It is not known if there were working smoke alarms in the house. Damage to the home is extensive and occupants will be displaced for quite some time. Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigators are on scene to determine the exact origin and cause. CEMA and Calgary Police Service Victim Assistance Unit are on scene to assist the displaced occupants.
