Calgary Fire Crews extinguish garage fire in Parkland

At approximately 1:35 on Friday afternoon of January 17th, Calgary fire crews were called to a home on Parkland Boulevard S.E. for reports of a garage fire. On arrival, fire crews found a garage in the back alley fully involved with fire. Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down and prevented the spread of flames to neighbouring homes.

A vehicle that was parked near the garage sustained some minor heat damage and a power line that ran above the garage was burned. Enmax is on scene to do the repairs. A nearby fence was also damaged by the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of this fire however the garage was completely destroyed. A  fire investigator is at the scene to determine the exact origin and cause of this fire. A wood burning stove was being used to heat the garage but it has yet to be determined if that is related to the cause.
