Man charged in accidental shooting incident

A man has been charged in relation to an accidental shooting.

On Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at approximately 11 p.m., a 25-year-old man is believed to have unintentionally discharged a legally-owned handgun inside his residence, located in the 0-100 block of Woodford Crescent S.W. The bullet traveled through the wall of his house and the house next door and struck his neighbour, a 61-year-old man, in the abdomen.

The victim has been released from hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Brandon NAUMANN has been charged with careless use of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm and having a loaded restricted firearm. He will next appear in court on September 11, 2015.
