Police investigate Chinook Park assault involving firearm

Officers are actively investigating an assault involving a firearm in the southwest community of Chinook Park.

At approximately 2 p.m., today, Saturday, April 6, 2024, officers responded to reports of an assault and the presence of an individual armed with a firearm in the 8200 block of 10 Street S.W. Upon arrival, responding officers contained a residence where the suspects were believed to be located. After challenges, the suspects surrendered to police.

Four individuals are currently in police custody. No shots were fired, and no injuries were sustained. There is no active risk to the public. Police will remain on scene for some time as the investigation continues.
