Police investigate shooting in Highwood

We continue to investigate a shooting that occurred last night in the northwest community of Highwood.

Yesterday, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at approximately 11:05 p.m., we received several calls reporting alleged gunshots as well as a call indicating a man was in medical distress outside a residence in the 0-100 block of Hartford Road N.W.

Upon arrival, police located one man on the driveway of a residence suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. 

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The man was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

This is believed to be a targeted incident.
