Police charge three individuals and seize drugs, weapons

Three people have been charged with more than 20 offences in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation that led police to a shopping centre just outside the city.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m., members of the Calgary Police Service Auto Theft Team located a stolen Honda Civic driving around the parking lot of CrossIron Mills, located at 261055 CrossIron Blvd., Rocky View, Alta.

Investigators observed two occupants get out of the stolen Honda Civic and attempt to steal a vehicle that was parked in the mall parking lot but were unsuccessful. The occupants then attempted to steal a licence plate from another vehicle that was also parked in the parking lot, however, investigators intervened.  

As a result, our officers, along with members of the RCMP, successfully arrested four individuals in relation to this incident and seized several items including:

·         A sawed-off .22 semi-automatic rifle

·         Ammunition

·         Bear spray

·         Small quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl

Colin Johannis DAVIDSON-TSCHRITTER, 26, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Theft of a motor vehicle

·         Driving while prohibited

·         Driving without insurance

·         Possession of methamphetamine

·         Possession of break-in tools

·         Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

·         Two counts of fail to comply with a probation order

·         Two counts of fail to comply with a release order

He will next appear in court today, Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Paige Elizabeth ASHLEE, 19, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Carrying a concealed weapon

·         Careless storage of a firearm

·         Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·         Unauthorized transportation of a firearm in a motor vehicle

·         Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon

·         Possession of a firearm without a licence

·         Possession of stolen property over $5,000

·         Three counts of possession of government documents in another person’s name

·         Three counts of possession of drugs

·         Two counts of fail to comply with a release order

She will next appear in court on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Gerald MARSHALL, 45, of Calgary, is charged with one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000.

He will next appear in court on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The fourth individual was released without charges.
