Classic Car Recovered

The Calgary Police Service Auto Theft Unit, with assistance from the RCMP Southern Alberta Auto Theft Unit, has recovered a classic car stolen from its longtime owner.

The 1962 Chevrolet Convertible Corvette was recovered from a DeWinton-area acreage this afternoon. It is currently being taken to the CPS forensics bay for further testing, but will be returned to its 73-year-old owner as soon as possible.

No charges have been laid in connection with the theft, however, the investigation is continuing.

Investigators received tips from the public that led them to the acreage and the stolen car.

Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance. Tips from the public were instrumental in being able to recover this rare vehicle.
