Police investigate serious-injury altercation

One man remains in life-threatening condition following an altercation downtown earlier today.

Police were called around 3:30 p.m., today, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, to the 1900 block of Fourth Street S.W., for reports that two groups of people became involved in a fight that resulted in a stabbing. The injured man was discovered nearby and transported to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

All other individuals involved in the altercation had fled prior to police arrival. Officers are currently canvassing the area for CCTV and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police. At this time, investigators are seeking to locate:

·       A man described by witnesses as Indigenous, between 18 and 20 years old, wearing skinny blue jeans with a red bandana in the back pocket and white high top runners.

·       A woman described by witnesses as Indigenous, between 18 and 20 years old, with long, blond hair

·        Two other individuals, a man and a woman, both described by witnesses as Indigenous and older than the previous two.
