Fatal collision

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a fatal collision.

At approximately 11:15 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, a Honda CRV was traveling north on 14 Street N.W., south of Berkley Gate.

It crossed over the centre grass median, colliding head on with an Acura SUV traveling south on 14 Street.

The 65-year-old female driver of the CRV was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 59-year-old female driver of the Acura was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Both vehicles had no passengers.

Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors. Investigators are considering whether the driver of the CRV suffered a medical condition.
