Joint operation results in 19 arrests and 87 warrants executed

A joint warrant enforcement operation between the Calgary Police Service and Alberta Sheriffs has resulted in 19 arrests and the execution of 87 outstanding warrants.

The recent two-day operation brought together members of our District 3 Community Engagement Response Team (CERT), Community Resource Officers (CRO), Patrol Officers and the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team (FASST).

The initiative focused on locating wanted fugitives, improving public safety and furthering investigations.

The operation was planned over several weeks, with analytical resources preparing and reviewing approximately 130 information packages before officers were deployed. During the operation, members attended 62 residences throughout District 3.

The operation resulted in:

  • 19 individuals arrested.
  • 87 warrants executed for charges including possession of dangerous weapons, drug trafficking, personation, possession of stolen property and possession of fake ID documents.

“Our continuing partnership with the Alberta Sheriffs allows us to improve community safety, by coordinating resources to hold offenders accountable, while addressing ongoing concerns within the district,” says District 3 Insp. Travis Juska.

“Strong collaboration between law enforcement agencies is essential to keeping Alberta communities safe. Operations like this demonstrate what we can accomplish when the Alberta Sheriffs and our policing partners work together, share resources and use our combined expertise to locate wanted fugitives and hold offenders accountable,” says Insp. Darren Thompson with the Alberta Sheriffs FASST.

The Calgary Police Service extends its thanks to the Alberta Sheriffs for their continued collaboration and support.
