Man charged after breaching court-ordered release conditions in 48 hours
We have charged a man with several offences after he is believed to have breached his court-ordered release conditions earlier this month.
In August 2026, Sage Carson Elias Blaze YOUNGMAN, 20, of Calgary, was charged in relation to a robbery that occurred at a liquor store. At the time of the arrest, a loaded .22-caliber lever action rifle was seized from YOUNGMAN.
On Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, YOUNGMAN was released with court-ordered conditions involving a 24-hour curfew and a weapons prohibition. At the time, the Calgary Police Service Offender Management Team began monitoring him.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, members from our Offender Management Team observed YOUNGMAN downtown and confirmed he was in breach of his court-ordered release conditions. Officers from our Community Engagement Response Team (CERT) were nearby and successfully took YOUNGMAN into custody.
At the time of his arrest, the following items were seized:
- A firearm
- Bear spray
- Approximately nine grams of methamphetamine
- Approximately eight grams of Fentanyl
As a result, YOUNGMAN is charged with:
- Two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order

He will next appear in court on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.
“We have found targeting repeat offenders is very efficient in promoting public safety, however it requires substantial resources and co-ordination not only from various areas within the Service, but with our external partners as well,” says Staff Sgt. Kerry Smith of the Calgary Police Service Offender Management Unit. “Our officers continue to dedicate a significant amount of time to monitoring high-risk individuals as we try and ensure they do not breach their conditions or reoffend, and that we intervene before they have the opportunity to victimize Calgarians.”
