Police investigate serious-injury pedestrian collision in southwest Calgary

Earlier today, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at approximately 11:10 a.m., we responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the parking lot of a business located at 251 Stewart Green S.W.

It is believed a woman in her 80s was walking through the parking lot with the assistance of a mobility walker when she was struck by a vehicle reversing from a parking stall. The vehicle was being driven by a woman in her 70s.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver was not injured.

At this time, it is too early to determine whether impairment, speed or distraction contributed to the collision. All possible factors remain under investigation.
