Update #2: Suspect identified and charges laid in random sexual assault

In August 2026, we sought the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle believed to be involved in a random sexual assault at the Southland CTrain Station.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at around 1 a.m., officers were called to the Southland CTrain Station parking lot, located at 10158 Sacramento Dr. S.W., after witnesses reported a vulnerable woman in distress who appeared to have been sexually assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition. Investigators believe the woman did not know the man prior to the attack.

On the night of the assault, police responded immediately, conducted extensive local enquiries and collected evidence from the scene. The investigation ultimately led to the suspect's arrest and subsequent charges.

As a result, Sedat KAYA, 25, is charged with one count of sexual assault.

KAYA is expected to appear in court on Friday, Nov. 27, 2026.
