Joint operation results in 15 arrests and 51 warrants executed
A joint warrant enforcement operation between the Calgary Police Service and Alberta Sheriffs has resulted in 15 arrests and the execution of 51 outstanding warrants.
The recent two-day operation brought together members of our District 2 Patrol and Patrol Support Teams and the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team, FASST. The initiative focused on locating wanted individuals, improving public safety and furthering investigations.
The operation was planned over several weeks, with analytical resources preparing and reviewing approximately 120 information packages before officers were deployed. During the operation, members attended 66 residences throughout Calgary.
The operation resulted in:
- 15 individuals arrested
- 51 warrants executed, including one Canada-wide warrant
- Five criminal charges laid
- 34 investigations
Focused enforcement initiatives like this allow us to dedicate resources to locating individuals who have outstanding warrants and may otherwise be difficult to find through routine policing activities. This operation also demonstrates what can be achieved when agencies combine their knowledge, resources and specialized expertise to improve public safety.
In addition to arrests, investigators gathered information about the possible whereabouts of wanted individuals, verified addresses, developed new investigative leads and updated records to support future enforcement efforts.
