Police seek dashcam footage in hit-and-run on Deerfoot Trail

We are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that is believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run resulting in two vehicles being damaged.

On Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, at approximately 2:55 p.m., an unknown SUV, believed to be a black Ford Explorer with black steel rims, was travelling northbound on Deerfoot Trail from Memorial Drive N.E.

At the time, it is believed the vehicle was driving erratically, swerving in and out of lanes and conducting unsafe lane changes.

As the vehicle attempted to make a lane change, it side-swiped a 2021 grey Acura RDX in the second lane.

The Acura lost control and hit a 2015 red Volkswagen Tiguan, which also lost control. Both vehicles then came to a rest on the left shoulder of northbound Deerfoot Trail.

The black SUV immediately fled the scene and was last seen heading eastbound on 16 Avenue N.E.
