Tee it Up and Try it Out!

Calgary, AB – Swing into the 2014 golf season with the opening of several municipal golf courses and driving ranges, starting with the Shaganappi Point Driving Range on Saturday, April 5.

A new feature this year to help enhance the golf experience is The City of Calgary Golf Courses app powered by Gallus Golf. The app is free and can be downloaded at the Apple App Store or Android Market by searching: The City of Calgary Golf Courses.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming golfers back for another season,” says Kyle Ripley, Manager, Golf Course Operations. “We are also excited for them to try out the exciting features of the app that will help players enhance their game by knowing distances to the flag in an instant, tracking their rounds of golf, and using the leader board for group outings. Plus it can be shared easily with friends on Facebook.”

Other special features on The City of Calgary Golf Courses app include an interactive scorecard, GPS yardage, satellite hole flyover, online tee time bookings, special offer notifications, news updates and more. Over 300 golf enthusiasts have already downloaded and are ready to begin adding this new technology to elevate their playing experience to a whole new level. After Shaganappi Point Driving Range, the courses at McCall Lake, Confederation and Shaganappi Point (including the other two driving ranges) are scheduled to open during the week of April 7. Temporary greens and reduced fees will be in effect. The schedule is tentative and based on weather and course conditions.
