Sexual Assault Investigation

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a report of a sexual assault in southeast Calgary.

On Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at approximately 4 a.m., CPS received a report of a sexual assault at a residence in the 6200 block of 17 Avenue S.E.

A woman in her early 20s was transported to a local hospital for examination, and later released.

It is believed this was not random, and involved two people who met prior to the incident.

Investigators have spoken to a number of people in an attempt to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

One person was taken into custody at the scene, but later released pending further investigation.

Officers continue to speak to potential witnesses as the investigation continues.

No charges have been laid at this time.
