Restaurant Fire in Quarry Park

Calgary Firefighters were called out just before midnight for a building fire in Quarry Park SE. First in crews found a restaurant located in a shopping complex at 163 Quarry Park Boulevard with smoke exiting the structure. The firefighters forced entry into the locked restaurant and attacked a fire in the kitchen area. The fire was quickly controlled and the area searched for possible victims. The building proved to be empty at the time of the fire. The fire had spread from the area of origin into the ceiling. The firefighters manage to pull down some of the ceiling and quickly stop the fire spread. Investigators are now on scene to determine the cause of the fire. Surrounding businesses were not affected by the incident although some vehicles were trapped in the parking lot temporarily by the fire hoses.No injuries were reported.
