PSA: Schedule for Week 2 of Land Use Amendment Public Hearing

CALGARY – As the first week of the largest Public Hearing in Calgary’s history draws to a close, The City of Calgary is preparing for week two. The City is committed to ensuring that every registered speaker has an opportunity to be heard, while also continuing to manage other business.  

Given the unprecedented scale of the Public Hearing, The City is diligently working to balance the Public Hearing process with its other scheduled commitments. As such, the schedule for the week of April 28 is as follows (please be aware that the schedule may be adjusted as needed, based on the direction of City Council):

Members of the public who wish to speak to Council at the Public Hearing can register online at calgary.ca/publicsubmissions, or in person at the Municipal Building. The City encourages registered speakers to follow the livestream at calgary.ca/watchlive or the live agenda at calgary.ca/agenda to follow the progress of the meeting and to see which panels are speaking. 

This is the largest Public Hearing that The City has ever held, with more than 880 public speakers registered at last count. In this first week, a total of 331 individuals have spoken, and approximately 5,950 written submissions have been received as of 9:30 p.m. Friday April 26th
