PSA: Final workshops to design new planning system begin May 22

Transforming Planning invites you to participate in our next round of public workshops to co-design a new planning system for Calgary. As we work towards finalizing a planning system outline for City Council in July 2013, we are asking all stakeholders – citizens, City staff, industry and communities – to attend these sessions. It won’t be the last chance to engage on Calgary’s future planning system, but it is an important opportunity to contribute as we move from designing a new system to actually beginning to build and implement it from July 2013 onward.

 

Previous workshops in March-April 2013 helped identify system functions and goals for planning in Calgary. From this engagement work, we heard that defining roles and responsibilities, as well as identifying desired behaviours, are critical to success in the future. In order to achieve early great outcomes and better decisions within the new system, culture and role definition are important. Therefore, the theme of Roles & Responsibilities will drive our May workshops.

 Workshops are free but registration-based. Each workshop is limited to the first 50 participants who register.
