Mandatory evacuation lifted for portion of Discovery Ridge
The City of Calgary remains in a state of local emergency due to significant flooding.
Mandatory evacuation for a portion of the high-ground area in Discovery Ridge has been lifted. Mandatory evacuations remain in place for the remaining Discovery Ridge homes and all other communities previously identified.
Please view the Discovery Ridge map located on Calgary.ca to determine homes identified as safe for return or call 311. Residents who have been approved to safely return home are asked to read important information upon re-entering their home.
It is unknown at this time when other mandatory evacuations may be lifted and residents are asked to stay tuned to media reports and www.calgary.ca for more information.
We are continuously assessing evacuated communities to determine when residents may be able to return home. Public safety is our first priority and mandatory evacuations will not be lifted until the area is fully accessible by emergency services and power to the area fully restored.
We thank everyone for their continued cooperation as we continue to evaluate areas.
Please visit Calgary.ca for current information.
