City hosts Citizen Conversation about organizational culture

The City of Calgary’s Cultural Transformation Project team will be hosting a “Citizen Conversation” on Saturday, April 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the TELUS Convention Centre Macleod Hall D.

 

Calgarians interested in attending are invited to visit citizenconversation.eventbrite.ca to reserve a seat. A limited number of seats are available.

 

The Cultural Transformation Project is a city and corporate-wide, collaboration, and alignment-setting dialogue project. It is about discovering the attitudes, habits and behaviours of employees that best place citizens at the centre of our thinking, planning and doing. Civic employee’s jobs are all about putting the citizen at the centre of everything they do. No matter what the function or business, everyone has a daily opportunity to make the lives of citizens better. Employees’ workplace successes can be seen as citizens’ successes.

 

The Cultural Transformation Project is gathering information about The City’s culture and what works best and should be built into all aspects of the organization. It is not about what The City does and instead is about how it does it. The project has already begun with gathering information from City of Calgary employees and the Citizen Conversation is the first discussion with citizens aimed at the same objective. The Citizen Conversation is the first in what is scheduled to be a series that will take place in 2013-2014.

 

Interested members of the media are also invited to attend the Citizen Conversation as participants.
