Canada Day 2014 holiday hours for City of Calgary facilities

The City of Calgary is adjusting its hours of operation for services and facilities on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Calgary Transit will also provide free Route 567 shuttle bus service on July 1. Route 567 will provide service every 20 minutes starting at 10:40 a.m. from Fort Calgary until midnight. View full schedule.

Recreation
Aquatics and Fitness Centres
All aquatics and fitness centres will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Leisure Centres
Village Square Leisure Centre
Canada Day Hours: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Southland Leisure Centre
Canada Day Hours: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Arenas
All  arenas will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, except for any advanced bookings.

Art Centres
The North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Athletic Parks
All athletic parks will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, except for any advanced bookings.

Parks
Nature Centre – Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
The Nature Centre will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Sanctuary trail will remain closed throughout 2014 due to impacts of last year’s flood.

Devonian Gardens
Devonian Gardens follow the same hours as the CORE Shopping Centre.
Canada Day: open 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Animal Services Centre
2201 Portland Street SE
Monday to Friday: open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Canada Day: closed

Residential Waste & Recycling Collection
Regular collection of waste and recycling on Tuesday (Canada Day).

Landfills
Spyhill Landfill, East Calgary Landfill and Shepard Landfill
All open 7 days per week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Administrative Offices
Administrative offices including the Municipal Building will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Calgary Zoo
Admission gates and services will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Canada Day. Zoo grounds close at 6 p.m.

Heritage Park
Heritage Park Historical Village is celebrating its 50th Birthday on Canada Day. The Park will be open late into the evening. Gates will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks at 11 p.m.

Fort Calgary
Fort Calgary will have free, family friendly activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning with a pancake breakfast. The Interpretive Centre will be featuring the Strathcona Mounted Troop Musical Ride at 1:15 p.m. and admission to the Museum is 50% off.

TELUS Spark
TELUS Spark will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Canada Day.
