Calgary road closures - June 2, 2014

Northwest

NEW: There will be various left lane closures on 16 Avenue N.W. from 14 Street N.W. to Centre Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3 due to boulevard maintenance.

NEW: Westbound Kensington Road will be reduced to one lane between 17 Street N.W. and 18 Street N.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3 due to construction.

16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction over the Bow River from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly on Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3 due to bridge testing.

Edmonton Trail will be closed at 17 Avenue N.W. and 18 Avenue N.W. from 5 a.m. on Friday, May 16 until early June due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.

Southeast

NEW: There will be various lane closures on 9 Street S.E. at 32 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Monday, June 2 to Monday, June 16 dye to utility work.

There will be construction occuring on Sunmills Drive S.E. between Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. and Suncastle Drive S.E. for the month of June due to traffic calming measures being implemented in the area. Traffic should be minimally impacted but motorists are asked to be aware and cautious around crews working.

There will be various lane closures on 9 Street S.E. at 32 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Tuesday, May 27 to Tuesday, June 10 due to utility work. 

The right lane will be closed on southbound 52 Street S.E. between 68 Avenue and 72 Avenue S.E from 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 27 to Sunday, June 1 due to utility work. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h at this time. In addition, 68 Avenue S.E. will be closed west of 52 Street S.E. with traffic detoured to 64 Avenue and 72 Avenue S.E. The regional pathway on the west side of 52 Street S.E. will be closed and detoured to the east side of 52 Street S.E. Local business access will be maintained. Alternate routes such as Barlow Trail are recommended as delays are expected.

Southwest

NEW: There will be various lane closures on southbound Crowchild Trail over Bow Trail from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2 to 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3 due to bridge deck work. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.

There will be various lane closures at Glenmore Trail and 14 Street S.W. from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Sunday, June 1 to Thursday, June 5 due to bridge deck maintenance.

Eastbound 8 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 4 street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 due to building construction. Parking will be restricted in the area at this time.

The 7 Street S.W. cycle track is closed due to dangerous building conditions at 608 7 Street S.W. until further notice. A two way cycle detour is now in place on 7 Street S.W.

There will be various lane closures on eastbound Bow Trail between Sarcee Trail and 37 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily on weekends from Wednesday, May 21 to Wednesday, June 4 due to construction. At this time the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h.

 13 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 due to utility work.

There will be various lane closures on 14 Street S.W. between 6 Avenue and 38 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on weekdays, and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. Work will be ongoing until late-summer. Visit Calgary.ca for more information.

There will be various lane closures on 14 Street S.W. between Heritage Drive and Anderson Road from Monday, May 12 until August for operational improvements. More information is available on the website.

Two left lanes on 4 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 3 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. during peak hours. During off-peak hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) three left lanes will be closed. The first phase of this project is expected to last until mid-June.

2 Avenue S.W. is closed between 2 Street and 3 Street S.W. until Thursday, July 3 at 6 p.m.

The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
