Thanks for your patience, Calgary.

Now that the snow has finally stopped falling our 7-day snow and ice control plan will begin. Crews are completing the snow and ice control on major commuter routes. Within 48 hours after the snow has stopped, our crews will start to tackle Priority 2 routes. These are routes that connect communities to the commuter routes. After the connector routes are complete our crews will work on residential areas.

Since the storm hit we have received many 311 inquiries. From 12 a.m. December 2 to 12 p.m. December 3 approximately 957 Service Requests have been submitted to 311 regarding snow and ice concerns. The majority of these concerns have come from the northern most parts of the city. Attached is a map that illustrates some service requests per location. Roads crews are working diligently to move through the priority routes and address the accumulation in residential areas. We thank you for your patience while we continue to fight the snow.

A Snow Route parking ban is in effect starting Wednesday, December 4 at 9 a.m. This will help our crews clear Priority 2 routes quicker. The Snow Route parking ban supports snow plowing operations by removing parked vehicles from the streets, and allowing crews to clear snow from Calgary roads more efficiently. If you live on a Snow Route parking ban street, we ask that you move your car, so that our crews can clear your street faster. This will allow them to get to residential roads quicker.

The City of Calgary’s roads crews would like to thank Calgarians for their patience during this storm.
