Snow update Oct 8 AM

With snow falling early Tuesday and continuing throughout the day, Calgarians are reminded to drive, cycle and walk with winter conditions in mind. Icy patches may exist on some roads, sidewalks and pathways.

Crews will continue focusing on salting and plowing high-volume Priority 1 routes (such as Crowchild Trail and Glenmore Trail) to keep the highest number of citizens moving safely through The City. It is expected that plowing operations will intensify through the day as snowfall becomes heavier.

Snow is anticipated to slow Tuesday evening. When the snowfall ends, this will activate the seven day snow plan, and crews will begin working down the priority list.

At this time, The City does not anticipate the need to call a snow route parking ban.
