Northeast

Reduced lanes eastbound on Memorial Drive N.E. between 9 Street and 12 Street N.E. beginning Wednesday, September 27 until Friday, September 29 daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure.

Road closure on Regal Crescent N.E. and Russet Road N.E. beginning Friday, September 22 at 6 p.m. until Friday, September 29 at 8 p.m. This closure accommodates sanitary line/storm replacement.

Reduced lanes on Country Hills Boulevard N.E. and Barlow Trail N.E. beginning Monday, September 25 until Friday, September 29 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Northwest

NEW: Reduced lanes and sidewalk closure northbound on Northmount Drive N.W. and Brisebois Drive N.W. beginning Thursday, September 28 until Friday, September 29 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes and partial sidewalk closure on east side of 10 Street N.W. and Kensington Road N.W. starting Tuesday, September 26 until Friday, September 29 daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Road closure on 60 Street N.W. between Bowness Road N.W. and Bow Crescent N.W. starting Monday, September 25 at 8 a.m. until Monday, October 2 at 7 p.m. This closure accommodates catch basin installation.

Reduced lanes westbound and eastbound on 16 Avenue and Home Road N.W. beginning Monday, September 11 until Saturday, September 30 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. will see various lane closures until the end of October, 2017 as part of an intersection improvement project.

Trans Canada Highway / Sarcee Trail Interchange Improvements project

  • Daily lane reductions on Sarcee Trail N.W. at 16 Avenue N.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through project limits to the end of October.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

  • Daily lane reductions on Bowfort Road N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. For more information on this project, visit the project page.

16 Avenue and Home Road N.W. Upgrades

  • Please note that the following lane closures are in effect until the end of September
    • Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.: The right-hand lane will be closed in each direction.
    • Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: The right-hand lane will be closed in each direction
  • To avoid delays please consider using Bowness Road N.W. as an alternate route to bypass the construction area

Southeast

NEW: Reduced lanes at 1707 44 Street S.E. beginning Thursday, September 28 at 6 a.m. until Saturday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. Two way traffic will be set up on east side. This closure accommodates water services.

Road closure on 7 Avenue S.E. between 5 Street and 6 Street S.E. beginning Monday, September 25 at 7 a.m. until Friday, October 6 at 7 p.m. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes. This closure accommodates a service tie-in.

Macleod Trail will have reduced lanes at Southland Drive S.E. starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20.

  • During the morning peak hours, there will be a traffic pattern change on Macleod Trail at Southland Drive S.E. (5 a.m. to 9 a.m.).
  • There will be no left turn for at Southland Drive for traffic travelling in either direction of Macleod Trail at Southland Drive S.E.
  • Motorists wishing to turn left onto Southland Drive at Macleod Trail are advised to use alternate routes of Heritage Drive or Anderson Road S.E.
  • During this closure, motorists are advised to expect delays in the area, watch for workers in the construction zone, and use alternate routes when possible. This work will continue through 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 and accommodates valve install on the water main in the work area.

Reduced lanes westbound on 114 Avenue S.E. between 24 Street and 29 Street S.E. beginning Friday, September 15 until Friday, October 6 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Road closure on eastbound 3 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street and 1 Street S.E. beginning Monday, September 18 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, September 28 at 7 p.m. Use alternate routes and expect delays. This closure is to accommodate curb and sidewalk replacement.

Road closure on Confluence Way S.E. between 6 Avenue and Riverfront Avenue S.E. beginning Monday, September 18 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, September 28 at 7 p.m. Use alternate routes and expect delays. This closure is to accommodate service tie in.

Reduced lanes on 114 Avenue S.E. and 29 Street S.E. originally scheduled for completion Thursday, August 24 has been extended until Thursday, September 28 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Reduced lanes on 18 Street S.E. north of Douglas Glen Boulevard S.E. beginning Friday, September 1 until Friday, November 3 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Reduced lane northbound on 18 Street S.E. between Riverglen Drive S.E. and Riverbirch Crescent S.E. beginning on Monday, August 14 to Monday, November 6 weekdays only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane eastbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail S.E. on Cushing Bridge beginning on Thursday, August 10 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Flagman will be onsite to direct traffic. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Southwest

Road closure on 70 Avenue S.W. between Macleod Trail South and 4A Street S.W. on Saturday, September 23 and Saturday, September 30 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. These closures accommodate crane lifts.

Road closure on 17 Avenue S.W. between 4 Street and 5 Street S.W. beginning Wednesday, September 20 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, October 15 at 7 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Various road closures on 2 Street S.W. between 25 Avenue and 26 Avenue S.W. from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. beginning on Monday, September 18. During this closure, motorists are advised to expect delays in the area, and use alternate routes when possible. This closure remains in place until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 and accommodates water utility upgrades.

Road closure on 17 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.E. and 2 Street S.E. with closure on 1 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. beginning on Saturday, August 5 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Restricted parking will also be in place on 17 Avenue S.E. with vehicle detours indicated via signage. Closures are to accommodate construction.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

  • Reduced lanes westbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Although closed to through westbound traffic, access to local traffic and businesses will remain. Parking restrictions will be in place through work area. Vehicle and pedestrian detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.
  • Reduced lanes westbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street S.E. and 1 Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Although closed to through westbound traffic, access to local traffic and businesses will remain. Alberta Transportation

Southwest Ring Road Project
