Youth Employment Centre to reopen Wednesday in new temporary location

Calgary —Due to the recent floods, The City of Calgary’s Youth Employment Centre (YEC) is being temporarily relocated from its home at the Alberta Trade Centre. 
 
On Wednesday, July 10, the YEC will reopen for business at the University of Calgary’s Downtown Campus at 906, 8 Avenue SW, in Room 416. The YEC will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
 
Calgary’s youth, ages 15 to 24, looking to access help with their career plan or job search can access the services and resources below at no cost:
  • connect with a career advisor to research career and education options
  • check out hundreds of jobs on our job boards
  • set up informational interviews, job shadows and work experience opportunities
  • prepare a targeted resume or have their current resume critiqued
  • learn to ace an interview
  • develop a career portfolio
  • complete industry training
  • use our photocopier and access the Internet
