Victoria Day 2015 Hours of Operation for City of Calgary Facilities

 

The City of Calgary is adjusting its hours of operation for services and facilities on Victoria Day, Monday, May 18, 2015.
 

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Victoria Day, Monday, May 18, 2015. Please check the schedules page to find out when your bus is running.

CTrain Service Disruption: Friday, May 15 (7:00 p.m.) to Monday, May 18
All CTrain stations in the downtown core will be closed (except Downtown West/Kerby). Shuttle buses will replace CTrain service downtown. The closure begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15 and is expected to be completed before CTrain service starts on the morning of Tuesday, May 19.

Calgary Parking Authority
No payment is required for on-street parking on May 18, 2015.
Holiday rates are in effect for all Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades on May 18, with the exception of the Calgary Zoo and TELUS Spark, where regular rates will be in effect.

Golf Courses

Leisure Centres (Regular admission applies)
Southland Leisure Centre will be open on Monday, May 18 from  11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Village Square Leisure Centre will be open on Monday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Public Skate: 12:30–2 p.m.)

Aquatics and Fitness Centres
All aquatic and fitness centres will be closed on Monday, May 18.

Arenas
​All other arenas will be closed on Monday, May 18, except for any advanced bookings.

Art Centres
The North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres will be closed on Monday, May 18.

Calgary Soccer Centre
The Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed on Monday, May 18.

 

City of Calgary Parks

Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
Park hours: sunrise to sunset year-round.
The Nature Centre is closed Mondays and statutory holidays including Victoria Day, May 18.
NOTE: The sanctuary’s trails are currently closed and are not expected to reopen until mid-2016.

Devonian Gardens
Devonian Gardens follow the same hours as the CORE Shopping Centre's Merchants and will be open 12 to  5 p.m. on May 18.

 

City Services

Animal Services Centre
Closed on Victoria Day, May 18.
The Centre will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, May 19 (Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Residential Waste & Recycling Collection
Residential waste & recycling collection is not affected by the Victoria Day holiday.

Landfills
Spyhill, Shepard and East Calgary Landfills are currently open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours of operation are not affected by the Victoria Day holiday.

Administrative Offices
City of Calgary administrative offices, as well as the offices of the Mayor and Office of the Councillors will be closed on Monday, May 18 and will reopen for regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, May 19.

 

Other Facilities

Fort Calgary
Fort Calgary is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  Hours of operation are not affected by the Victoria Day holiday. 

Calgary Zoo
The Calgary Zoo gates are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Zoo Grounds close at 6 p.m. Hours of operation are not affected by the Victoria Day holiday. 

Heritage Park
Heritage Park is celebrating its summer opening weekend from May 16-18 with gates open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
Each day of this weekend the first 500 guests who arrive and pay regular gate admission between 9:30am and 10:00am will be treated to a complimentary pancake breakfast, in the Chautauqua Tent.

TELUS Spark
TELUS Spark is open regular hours for the Victoria Day long weekend.
Saturday, May 16: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
