Update – Calgary’s response to heavy snowfall

The City of Calgary continues to respond to the heavy snowfall during the last two days.  Broken and fallen trees have resulted in some property damage, blocked roadways, and damaged power lines. The Emergency Operation Centre was opened at 12:00 pm on Tuesday September 9, 2014 to assist in the coordination of The City’s response crews and partner agencies.

With the focus of public safety, City Crews and ENMAX continue to clear debris from roadways and power lines. We thank Calgarians for their patience and understanding as equipment such as chainsaws and trucks are utilized throughout the night.

We will be providing additional information about the ongoing clean up and debris removal and how Calgarians can help as it becomes available. City service updates are available at www.calgary.ca or by downloading The City of Calgary mobile news app.
