CP Rail/Bonnybrook rail incident
CP train derailment has been resolved as planned without incident. The railcars were emptied and successfully removed from the bridge in Bonnybrook. No product spilled from the railcars and there were no injuries.

- Deerfoot Trail is now open in both directions.
- Barlow Trail is now open in both directions.
- Ogden Road is restricted with limited traffic flow between 50 Avenue SE and 17 Street SE. 50 Ave SE is open. The City will update on any changes throughout the day.
- A single lane is now open on Shouldice Bridge.
- MacDonald Bridge is now open.
- Memorial drive is now open to two way traffic on from Crowchild Trail to 10th Street.

- CTrain Service - Route 201 CTrain is running between Crowfoot Station and 8 Street Station SW, and between Somerset-Bridlewood Station and Heritage Station.
- CTrain Shuttle Bus Information - Route B201 CTrain Shuttle provides a connection between Heritage station and downtown at 1 Street SW while LRT tracks are being repaired.
- B201 CTrain shuttle service will no longer stop on 11 Street W at the Downtown West / Kerby station. Customers can connect with other services by using CTrain service along 7 Avenue in the downtown.
- Out of 44 LRT stations, five stations are closed. This includes the closure of the Chinook Station which was a planned closure for upgrading and is not related to the flood.
Sinkholes and concrete blowouts:
- There are currently 54 sinkhole locations that need to be repaired. Six repairs were completed yesterday.
- Eight concrete blowouts have been identified, with two of the repairs being completed.
Calgary Bridges
The City wants to assure you that all City of Calgary bridges are safe. City bridges are built into bedrock and continually undergo safety evaluations. All City of Calgary bridges were inspected three times before they were re-opened.

Water Quality and Conservation
- The quality of Calgary’s drinking water remains high.
- Outdoor water restrictions are still in effect and we must all continue to conserve water. The City is grateful to citizens for their cooperation with water limitations as these efforts have helped immensely.
- The City has started the ongoing process of watering its golf courses with non-potable water that is not subject to restrictions.
- This storm water is not part of the City’s drinking supply and its use has no impact on Calgarians’ continued access to clean, reliable drinking water.
- Two of Calgary’s three wastewater plants are functioning normally. Bonnybrook is operating with limitations, with primary treatment levels only. The full biological treatment capabilities at this plant will potentially take up to three weeks to resume.
- The Elbow River is now within normal flow rates for this time of year. Plans are underway with TransAlta to reduce the Bow River flow below Bearspaw Dam by mid-day Saturday.
Downtown Core
The area in the downtown core from 17th Avenue to 20th Avenue and east of 7th Street to Stampede Park was energized last evening. City crews are now working to assess and inspect properties south of 20th Avenue to the Elbow River and east to 6th Avenue SE.

The City has been working extremely hard to assist residents with pumping water from their homes. A small number of residences have individual sanitary sewer issues. If you do, please call 311.
We are happy to share that to date 95% of residents who have requested help with pumping water have received it.
Water Services is now in a position to extend this service to Calgary businesses that have not been able to arrange their own pumping.
This is an important step to getting Calgary’s economy back on line and Calgarians back to work

Three Community Support Centres will be closing this afternoon: Connaught, Bridgeland and Inglewood. Community members requiring support are encouraged to visit any of the other remaining six support centres from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

- The Cecil Hotel parking lot at 3 Street between 5 and 4 Avenues, SE.
If you are assisting with clean up, please ensure you wear the correct protective clothing, such as masks, boots and gloves.
The Calgary School Board and the Calgary Catholic School District are opening parking lots of selected schools to help with the flood clean up. A list of available lots is available on Calgary.ca. The City is also requesting commercial garbage collection pick-up be done more frequently in the downtown core to aid in the clean-up process.

ENMAX and The City of Calgary Development & Building Approvals have been working 24-hours a day to return power to Calgary. They are currently in the process of bringing power up in a large area downtown.
1 Sub L Bus was fully restored last night. This restored power to parts of Beltline to Mission. A number of homes remain without power due to the need for inspection and/or repair.
Only 466 customers remain without power in 20 Bus which affects east downtown. Power is scheduled to be re-energized Saturday by noon. See Map
Steps to restore power
If you have lost power in your home and continue to have no power service, please note that there are steps to be taken before your power is restored.
You should check your home for any appliances that may have been left on when you were evacuated or the power was shut off. These applications should be turned off or unplugged before the power is restored. This might include lights, cooking appliances, electronic equipment and others.
By not turning these appliances off prior to power restoration, there is a risk of starting a fire. There is no need to unplug major appliances such as stoves. However, ensure that all heating elements on any appliance are turned off before power being restored.

On-street RV parking:
The City has lifted the on-street RV parking ban until August 1, 2013. RVs can be parked on city streets to provide people with shelter.
On-street RV parking conditions:
RVs must be parked in communities which are outside of the flood affected areas.
RVs can only be parked on streets that allow for 24-hour parking.
There must be a minimum 6 metres of roadway kept clear for emergency vehicles.
RV push-outs must not affect traffic flow.
