The Calgary Fire Department Battles Bedroom Fire in NW

Shortly before 10:30 this morning the Calgary Fire Department was called to Thornlee Crescent NW for reports of a house fire.  When fire crews arrived they were met by a man who stated that there was smoke in the house.  The man also claimed that he was alone in the home when he detected the smoke. Firefighters entered the home and encountered thick black smoke on the second floor of the two story residence. The fire was located in, and confined to, a second floor bedroom.  Fire crews then ventilated the house to remove the residual smoke.  At this time a Fire Investigator is on scene.  No injuries were reported and traffic in the area is currently unaffected.
