PSA: Stu Peppard Arena to open Monday, April 8

The City of Calgary Recreation’s Stu Peppard Arena will reopen Monday, April 8, 2013. The arena has been closed since January 17 to allow for repairs after a routine facility check indicated the roof was compromised.

“In the interest of public safety, we made the decision to close the facility,” says Shelley Shea, Manager South Region, Recreation. “We thank Stu Peppard users and organizations that had scheduled ice times during the temporary closure for their patience and understanding.”

Stu Peppard Arena will be open for dry pad rentals from user groups, such as lacrosse teams, throughout the summer.

“The completion of these repairs guarantees that existing bookings can proceed with their regularly scheduled summer programming,” says Thomas Hansen, Manager of Capital Asset Management, Recreation.
