PSA: Calgarians invited to attend Stanley Park redevelopment project kick-off

On March 16, Calgarians are invited to attend the project kick-off for the redevelopment of Stanley Park.

This popular, multi-use park has a long history and a place in the hearts of the communities and users it serves.  It has become increasingly popular in recent years resulting in greater demands placed on the space.

“Our goal is to ensure Stanley Park remains valuable for park users today and into the future,” says Keath Parker, Project Lead. “On Saturday, we will share the ways in which the public can become involved in this important initiative.”

Public input is an important part of the project development process. Community and user input, suggestions and comments will be sought to better understand how the public and user groups utilize the space and help identify areas for improvement.  This information will be used to determine appropriateness, feasibility, and suitability to how it may be incorporated into the redevelopment plan.

Project kick-off event:
Date: Saturday, March 16
Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
Location: Stanley Park Administration Building (near lawn bowling club)

The project kick-off event is the first of many opportunities for citizens to get involved.  Visit www.calgary.ca/parks and click on the Stanley Park link under Parks Highlights.  Here you will find a link to register for an online forum or stop by one of the Sounding Boards available in the park to leave your comments.
