Nominate Calgarians who are making our city safer

The Calgary Police Commission is encouraging Calgarians to nominate individuals, community groups, youth, or businesses who are shining examples of community policing in action.

The Calgary Police Commission Community Policing Awards is a special event designed to honor the exceptional efforts of individuals and community groups who are helping to make our community stronger and our city safer.

“There are so many compelling stories about our neighbours, friends, and colleagues whose efforts are strengthening the ability of the Calgary Police Service to serve the community. We want to hear those stories so we can celebrate their work, show our gratitude, and give these citizens some well-deserved recognition.” – Brian Thiessen, Calgary Police Commission Chair

Nomination categories include:

  • Youth
  • Individual (volunteer)
  • Individual (compensated)
  • Community organization
  • Business
  • Calgary Police Service sworn member

Nominations will be accepted until April 6, 2018. Tell us about the exiting stories happening in your area by completing the form found here: https://www.calgarypolicecommission.ca/content/community-policing-awards-categories-and-nomination-form

The Community Policing awards ceremony will take place in June in Calgary as part of the Calgary Police Commission’s annual community dinner. The event is a catalyst for meaningful discussions where more than 350 community members from across the city are given a voice in addressing public safety topics at a grass roots level.
