Mail-in (Special) Ballots are in the mail

Eligible voters who requested to vote by Mail-in (Special) Ballot should begin receiving their ballots within the next week or so. Ballots and information packages will be mailed to requestors beginning September 24, says Barb Clifford, Returning Officer. Ballots must be returned in the envelopes provided and received by the Election Office no later than 8:00 p.m. on October 21, 2013, in accordance with the instructions.

 

If you requested the new early mailing option, please visit Calgary.ca/election for the official list of candidates in order to complete your Mail-in (Special) Ballot.

 

 “We encourage those voting by Mail-in (Special) Ballot to do so as promptly as possible upon receiving the ballot from our office. Returning your Mail-in (Special) Ballot early also allows us to process them more efficiently so elections results can be posted sooner on Election Day,” explained Clifford.

 

People with disabilities, serious illness or individuals who are working, vacationing, studying away from home as well as election or campaign workers can request a Mail-in (Special) Ballot if they will not be able to vote during the Advance Vote or on Election Day. This alternative voting method helps make sure that all eligible voters have an opportunity to participate in the 2013 General Election.

 

The City Election & Information Service Office will accept requests for Mail-in (Special) Ballots continuing until 4:30 p.m. on Election Day. Requests can be made by one of the following options:
