Heavy snow prompts garbage and recycling collection changes in some northeast neighbourhoods

Due to heavy snow in some back lanes, City of Calgary garbage and recycling vehicles continue to experience significant delays and difficulty accessing blue and black carts in certain northeast communities.

Waste & Recycling Services asks residents of the following communities only to move their blue and black carts to the front street for Tuesday collection this week if possible:

• Castleridge

• Martha’s Haven (Martindale)

• Redstone

• Saddleridge and Saddlelake

• Skyview Ranch

• Taradale and Taralake

Carts should be placed for collection by 7 a.m. and returned to your property by 7 p.m. on your collection day.

For residents who are unable to move their carts, collectors will attempt to reach what they can in back lanes. If your garbage or recycling is not collected this week, we ask that you save it for next week. Regular lane service will resume once the lanes become passable.
