Fatal Injury Collision

On Sunday, September 28, 2014 at approximately 16:20 hours, a fatal injury collision occurred on the ramp from westbound 16 Avenue N.W. onto northbound Stoney Trail N.W.

A 2009 Kawasaki VN900 motorcycle, being operated by a 39 year old female, was traveling on the off ramp when she left the road to the outside or left shoulder.  She struck the base of a light standard and the motorcycle continued into the center dividing cement barrier.

The operator of the motorcycle received fatal injuries as a result of this collision

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating the incident. Speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the collision.
