Fantastic roster of Canadian music set to rock Calgary’s Canada Day Celebrations

This July 1, Calgarians of all ages will be able to dance the evening away to one of the biggest line-ups ever up of Canadian bands for The City of Calgary’s Canada Day celebrations.

Bands will start hitting the Riverfront Stage at 7 p.m. with rising synth-rockers, Dear Rouge kicking things off with a bang and a boogie, followed by indie rock and folk favourites Dan Mangan + Blacksmith. This year’s headliners will be indie pop and rock darlings, Stars.

“We are incredibly excited to present a true, festival-style musical line-up for Calgarians to enjoy on Canada Day – Calgary’s largest single-day festival,” said Sarah Iley, manager of Culture for The City of Calgary. “Canada Day is the perfect time to bring the city together to celebrate and support a thriving community. With some of the best music and culture that Canada has to offer on the bill, we can’t wait to have everyone join the party.”

The Riverfront Festivities will kick off at noon on Riverfront Avenue with Calgary’s innovative and exciting new Beatnik Bus playing tunes and getting the crowd grooving in anticipation of the live music to follow.

Following the Riverfront Stage show, Calgarians will have the opportunity to wish the nation a happy 148th birthday with a world-class fireworks display taking place off the Centre Street Bridge. Presented by Hudson’s Bay and with a live music broadcast synchronized on 101.5 Kool FM and 95.3 The Peak, the show will provide a spectacular finale to the day’s celebrations.
