Deck the carts (two days early)

Just for the holidays, Wednesday cart collection temporarily moves to Monday 

Calgary, AB – All we want for Christmas (and New Year’s Day) is for residents with Wednesday garbage and recycling collection to put their carts out two days early during the holidays.

The temporary change to Monday collection impacts only those with Wednesday service.

Collection Services Manager Christy Lyon says December 25 and January 1 are the only collection days each year that crews aren’t out tipping carts. “By picking up Wednesday garbage and recycling on Monday December 23 and 30, residents will still receive weekly service and our collectors can enjoy Christmas Day and New Year’s Day as well.”

Lyon says households with Tuesday, Thursday (including Boxing Day) or Friday collection will continue to receive service on their normal collection day over the holidays.

Residents in the Green Cart pilot communities of Brentwood and Cougar Ridge will also have their Wednesday collection day moved to Monday for the holidays. Green Cart pilot residents can check their collection calendar or go to calgary.ca/greencart for more details.

Regular Wednesday collection will resume on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
