City Services: Canada Day 2017

Canada Day in Calgary promises to be bigger and better than ever this year as we celebrate our country’s 150th birthday. We're adjusting our hours of operation for the Canada Day holiday on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Below you’ll find a complete list of what you need to know.

Getting around
Calgarians headed downtown on Canada Day are encouraged to walk, bike and take transit to avoid congestion and road closures.

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Canada Day. For more information on fares, schedules and service changes visit calgarytransit.com or follow us on Twitter @calgarytransit.

Canada Day Parking
No payment is required for on-street parking on Canada Day, July 1, 2017. Calgary Parking Authority is also offering free parking on Canada Day in all of their parkades, with the exception of the Arts Commons Parkade, where holiday rates will be in effect. Holiday rates will be in effect in select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots. Regular rates will be in effect at the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark and Heritage Park.

Road Closures and Construction
Various roads in Calgary will be closed to parking and traffic on Canada Day to accommodate the celebrations and ensure public safety. Click here for information on Canada Day road closures and parking bans.
