City seeks public input on recycling strategy for multi-family residences

If you live in an apartment or condo and want to help shape your future recycling options, The City of Calgary wants to hear from you.

The City is exploring ways to improve recycling options for those who live in multi-family residences. These ideas are being presented at a series of open houses this April – and your feedback will help determine the future strategy.

Waste Diversion Specialist Philippa Wagner says although residents in apartments, condos and other multi-family residences have some recycling options, The City is looking to the future.“We are currently engaging residential and industry stakeholders in order to refine strategy options for those who live in multi-family housing.”

The options that will be presented starting April 15 are based on stakeholder engagement conducted in 2012. The feedback gathered from this spring’s open houses will form the basis for a report to be presented to Council.
