City Crews Continue to Work on Outages

Heavy rains and lightning overnight has resulted in power outages and flashing signals in every quadrant of the city. Pooling water on roadways and continued rain has made this morning’s commute even more difficult.

City crews have been working throughout the night to restore power and connectivity to The City’s traffic lights, and will continue to do so until things are back to normal. With continued storms and heavy rain expected for the next several days, Calgary may see more of these types of outages.

Drivers are reminded that at intersections where lights are either out, or on “red flash” to treat those as four-way stops.

We will continue with updates throughout the day as things progress.

We thank Calgarians and motorists for their patience and understanding while we work through this weather and challenges.
