City Crews Continue to Respond to Snow

City crews have been continuously maintaining roadways to address the snow that hit Calgary on Saturday through until Sunday. Crews have completed 95 per cent of snow and ice maintenance on priority one routes as of 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Weather reports indicate that Calgary is expected to get an additional two centimeters of snow overnight.

Crews will continue to maintain Calgary roadways, as part of The City’s Snow and Ice Control Maintenance plan throughout the night.

Drivers are reminded to drive according to the conditions and to take the following steps before beginning their Monday morning commute:

Clean snow and ice off your vehicle and ensure your lights and your windows are clear.
Give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
Reduce your speed and turn on your headlights.
Drive defensively.
Leave extra distance between you and the car ahead of you.
When road conditions are difficult, consider using Calgary Transit.
Consider delaying your trip until the roads are in better condition.
