Calgary road closures - November 28, 2013

Northwest

Eastbound Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane between 9 Street N.W. and 5A Street N.W. from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, November 26 until Saturday, November 30 for utility work.

The right lane on eastbound Memorial Drive east of Crowchild Trail will be closed daily between 11 a.m. and noon beginning Wednesday, November 27 to Friday, November 29. This restriction is in place to accommodate truck traffic delivering materials to a construction site.

22 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 18 Street N.W. and 19 Street N.W. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3 for utility work.

Southwest

4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 14 Avenue and 17 Avenue until Sunday, December 1 at 9 p.m. for utility work. Expect delays.

The intersection at 15 Avenue S.W. and 4 Street S.W. will be closed until Sunday, December 1 at 9 p.m.

The right lane on westbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be closed at 4 Street S.W. on Friday, November 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for utility work.

21 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 2 Street S.W. and 4 Street S.W. beginning Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, December 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Southbound Macleod Trail will be reduced to two lanes at 58 Avenue S.W. beginning Tuesday, December 3 at 8 p.m. to Wednesday, December 4 at 6 a.m. for building construction.

Southeast

64 Avenue will be closed between 11 Street S.E. and 12 Street S.E. on Saturday, November 30 until Sunday, December 1 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for utility work. Parking restrictions will begin Wednesday, November 27 at 7 a.m.

Additional lanes were open to traffic on eastbound and westbound Peigan Trail at 52 Street S.E. at noon Wednesday, November 27.  The lanes were added as operational improvements to prepare for the 2013 winter shut down of the Peigan Trail extension project. The speed limit on Peigan Trail remains at 50 km/h and the speed limit on 52 Street S.E. was revised to 60 km/h.  The lowered speed limits will remain in affect 24/7 due to continued construction activities adjacent to roadway.

Special Events

Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market

Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h on Spruce Meadows Trail between Macleod Trail and 53 Street S.W. beginning Friday, November 29 at 9 a.m. to Sunday, December 1 at 7 p.m.

Cenovus Christmas Party

8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Centre Street and 1 Street S.E. on Saturday, November 30 at 6 p.m. until Sunday, December 1 at 3 a.m.

Alberta Transportation

Southbound Stoney Trail will be reduced to 50 km/h with a right lane closure between Scenic Acres Link and Trans Canada Highway on Thursday, December 28 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. At this time the Nose Hill Drive on-ramp will be detoured.
