Deerfoot Trail Street Sweeping

Deerfoot Trail is maintained by Alberta Transportation. There will be some evening closures on Deerfoot to accommodate street sweeping.

Northbound Deerfoot closed from Southland Drive to 17 Avenue S.E. from 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2 to 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 3.

Deerfoot traffic detoured onto Southland Drive S.E. to Blackfoot Trail S.E. to 17 Avenue S.E. interchange then back onto northbound Deerfoot
Eastbound Heritage Meadows Way traffic detoured onto NB Heritage Meadows Rd to eastbound Heritage Drive S.E. to WB Glenmore Trail S.E. to northbound Blackfoot Trail S.E. then back onto northbound Deerfoot

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, and expect delays in the area.

Northeast

Reduced lanes on Barlow Trail N.E. north of Country Hills Boulevard N.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 1. This closure continues until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 and accommodates road construction.

Northbound 11 Street N.E. is closed at Aero Gate N.E. beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2. Local access will be maintained during the closure. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 and accommodates utility work.

Skyview Ranch Drive N.E. is closed between Skyview Shores Manor and Skyview Ranch Street N.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 1. This closure continues until 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 and accommodates road construction.

Reduced lanes on eastbound Country Hills Boulevard N.E. at Barlow Trail N.E. daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, April 24. This closure occurs daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Friday, May 5 and accommodates utility work.

Northwest

Westbound Silver Springs Boulevard N.W. is reduced to a single lane at Silvergrove Drive N.W. daily on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Friday, April 21. This closure continues daily during weekdays until 3 p.m. on Friday, May 5 and accommodates utility work.

Reduced lanes on westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of 14 Street N.W. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this closure, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/hr. through the construction zone. This closure continues daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Monday, May 15 and accommodates construction.

Sarcee Trail N.W. is reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic at 112 Avenue N.W. During this closure, a temporary traffic signal will alternate northbound and southbound traffic. This closure continues until 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 and accommodates construction.

Various single lane closures on 16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 17. Pedestrian and vehicle detours will be indicated via signage. This closure is part of an intersection improvement project and is expected to continue through October 2017.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 23 there will be a new traffic pattern on eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at Bowfort Road N.W. Motorists wishing to access Bowfort Road should remain in the left lane, all other traffic will be diverted under the bridge.
Daily lane reductions on Bowfort Road N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice.

Southeast

NEW: Reduced lanes on northbound Ogden Road S.E. at 80 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 for construction.

17 Ave S.E. BRT Project

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.E. has reduced lanes east of 19 Street S.E. daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays through 3 p.m. on Friday, May 12.

6 Avenue S.E. is closed between 5 Street S.E. and Confluence Way S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 24. This closure remains in place until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 and accommodates deep utility work. Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area and use alternate routes.

Glenmore Trail / Ogden Interchange

NEW: The right lane will be closed eastbound, westbound and southbound, plus the left closed northbound at the intersection of Glenmore Trail at Barlow Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 4 to allow for traffic signal work related to the Glenmore Trail / Ogden Road interchange project. Barlow Trail at Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h, that will remain in effect 24/7 for duration of construction.
NEW: The left lane will be closed on northbound and Southbound Barlow Trail at Glenmore Trail from 7 a.m. Saturday, May 6 to 7 a.m. Sunday, May 6 for utility work.
NEW: The right lane will be closed on northbound and Southbound Barlow Trail at Glenmore Trail from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 7 for utility work.

The Shepard Road access south of Glenmore is closed. There will be a new access created at 24 Street S.E. south of Glenmore Trail, west of the existing Shepard Road alignment. Traffic requiring to access Shepard Road south of Glenmore Trial will be detoured via the new 24 Street S.E. exit and then along 86 Avenue S.E. to reconnect with Shepard Road.

Macleod Trail / 162 Avenue construction project

There will be various lane closures on southbound Macleod Trail between Shawnessy Boulevard / Midlake Boulevard and 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Monday, May 1 until Friday, May 5.
There will be various lane closures on northbound Macleod Trail between 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard and Shawnessy Boulevard / Midlake Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Monday, May 1 until Friday, May 5.
The right lane will be closed on northbound and southbound Shawville Boulevard at 162 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Monday, May 1 until Friday, May 5.

Southwest

39 Street S.E. is reduced to a single lane in each direction between Memorial Drive S.E. and Fonda Way S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 24. During this closure, there will be no right turn from eastbound Memorial to 39 Street S.E., motorists will be detoured to 44 Street S.E. This closure remains in place until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 and accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes on 12 Avenue S.W. between 4 Street and 2 Street S.W. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, April 24. During this closure, cycle track traffic will be diverted into the closed traffic lanes. This closure continues daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 and accommodates construction.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

17 Avenue S.W. is closed between Macleod Trail S.E. and 1 Street S.E. beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 17. During this closure, local business access will be maintained. This closure remains in place until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 19.

Calgary Firefighters Stair Climb Challenge – Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7

6 Avenue S.E. is closed between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street South from 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 7.
During this closure, watch for police presence in the area.

Alberta Transportation
